Located on the legendry route to the world’s second highest mountain K-2, and known as Fong-Khar, which in the local language means the “Palace on the Rock”. The complex at Shigar comprises of the 400-year-old Fort / Palace and two more recent buildings, the "Old House" and the "Garden House". Shigar is a settlement into a green forest along the Shigar river delta constitutes the most unusual landscape. Shigar Fort has a shop famous for gems and stones. Moreover its garden is the most tanquil one. At night milkyways and shooting stars enhance the beauty of this palace.

Getting There

Shigar is just half an hour drive away from Skardu. It is accessible with all kind of vehicles through a paved road. On way to Shigar Fort Shigar Desert and Shigar Delta are the most serene and enchanting landscapes. Remains accessible almost throughout the year; except in case of heavy snow falls.
