Namla

First Campsite

Namla is the first campsite on Biafo Glacier and if you are an experienced trekker it takes about 6-8 hours given an early morning start from Askole.

From Askole it take about 2-3 hours to cross Kesar Shaguran, a wide barren plain, from which path to Biafo Glacier forks on left above a ridge to the moraine of glacier, continuing straight will take you to Concordia over the famous Baltoro Glacier.

After crossing the ridge keep to the left onto the cliff path until it ends, last bit of trek is quite strenuous over large unstable boulders. Namla Campsite is at 3400m and is not obvious from the glacier and path to camp is often ever changing amidst thousands of boulders.
