Basho Meadows Skardu

A meadow above Skardu

Basho valley is among the newly discovered hot spots around Skardu. Its one of the many high altitude meadows that is a signature landscape across the region above 3000 meters. Basho itself lies in the Himalayas while the Towering Mountains in the backdrop are in Karakoram Range. Situated in Rondu region its a Jeep Ride of 2 hours from Skardu. Local Jeeps should be hired as driving on this track can a bit tricky.

The turn for Basho comes before Kachura / Skardu if you are coming along Gilgit-Skardu road, so its ideal to Traverse it at the beginning or ending of your trip.

Ideal season to visit is from June-October.
