Hopar Glacier

Bualtar Glacier

Hopar Glacier is the common name for Bulatar Glacier, since Hopar village lies on its north-west. Local guides, even young boys from Hopar can give you a short trekking trip on to Bualtar Glacier.

Like many glaciers, it runs in a deep alley between the cliff of Hopar and Shishkin Meadows across the glacier. If your are trekking to Rush Lake, early morning start is a must, and glacier crossing must be done with a guide/local since Bualtar glacier moves very quickly and path across it changes frequently (once a week).
