Minapin

Face of Nagar

Minapin is a maze of crooked alleyways, twisted grapevines festoon the huge Mullbery and walnut trees shading the alleys. Minapin is the base town for trekking towards Rakapshi Base Camp. At an altitude of 2000m it is 90kms north of Gilgit and is also known for local cuisines served at Osho Thang Resturant. Porters and camps can also be arranged from here for Tagaphiri (Rakaposhi Base Camp). From Minapin one can follow the irrigation channel to the bridge thats leads across the stream to a well made donkey path. A steep hike of two to three hours gets you to Hapakun.
