Crown of Ghanche

Khaplu Palace is also known as Yabgo Ghar; served as a palace and fort till late 20th century. Built in 1840’s; its a blend of Ladakhi, Tibetan & Balti Architecture. A four story palace punctuated with irregularly placed windows opening towards the wide view of valley & Haldi cones. Its white washed facade is crowned by an extravagant four-tiered balcony embellished with rich artisan carvings in pillars and arches. Ancient archives, jewellery and craft is keenly preserved in the palace. Serena has renovated the palace into a Heritage Hotel offering a unique experience of living inside an ancient Royal Palace.
