A packed one-day journey through Karachi's landmarks and Sindh's ancient heritage. Start with Frere Hall and the Shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi, then drive to the UNESCO-listed Necropolis of Makli — one of the largest Islamic graveyards in the world — and the magnificent Shahjahan Mosque in Thatta. End the day with a boat ride at sunset on the serene Keenjhar Lake.
An early start from Karachi takes you first to Frere Hall, the city's elegant colonial-era landmark set in shaded gardens. A short drive leads to the cliffside Shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi, Karachi's most beloved Sufi saint with sweeping views of the Arabian Sea. Head east along the Indus Highway to Thatta district — stop at Makli Necropolis, one of the world's largest Islamic graveyards and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where royal tombs of Samma, Arghun and Tarkhan dynasties stretch across 10 sq km. Continue to the Shahjahan Mosque in Thatta, a 17th-century Mughal masterpiece of glazed blue tiles with 93 domes and 93 arched bays. End the day with a sunset boat ride on the serene Keenjhar Lake before returning to Karachi.
