Starting Location
Three days through the soul of Sindh. From Makli's vast Islamic necropolis and Thatta's Mughal mosque to the Sufi shrine of Shah Abdul Latif Bhithai in Bhit Shah, then south to Ranikot — the world's largest fort — and west to Sehwan's legendary Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. The final day visits the ruins of Mohen Jo Daro before returning to Karachi via Hala's craft bazaars.
Drive east from Karachi to Thatta district. Spend the morning at Makli Necropolis — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world's largest Islamic graveyards, where the royal tombs of Samma, Arghun and Tarkhan dynasties cover 10 sq km of ochre hillside. Continue to the Shahjahan Mosque, the Mughal masterpiece of 93 domes commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan. Lunch by the shore of Keenjhar Lake, Pakistan's second-largest freshwater lake, with an optional boat ride before driving on to Hyderabad for check-in.

Morning visit to Bhit Shah, the riverside village where the great Sindhi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhithai is buried. His dargah draws devotees who sing his mystical poetry through the night; the adjacent museum holds his sitar and manuscripts. Drive to Ranikot — the 'Great Wall of Sindh' and the world's largest fort at 26 km circumference, its ramparts stretching over the Kirthar hills. A short 4x4 track leads to the main Sann Gate. Continue to Sehwan, arriving in time for the electrifying evening urs at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar — where thousands of devotees dance the dhamaal.
